Proud to be an American

Last week we went to New York for the weekend.
Jace had to take a test down in the city so the girls and
I decided to tag along.  When I told Georgia we were going
I said what do you want to do when we go there, thinking she would
say go to the park or the zoo or the toy store's but she quickly
replied " Mom lets go to the statue of liberty."
She has learned about the statue from a few different things like
books, puzzles, little Einstein's T.V.  show and when
ever she see's a picture of it she gets so excited.  So I told her
we would do that when we were there. Then every day
probably 3 or 4 times a day G would ask if we were going to
New York City today, and
every time I would tell her no not today she would say
" ahhhhhhh MMMMOOOOMMMM"
She was so excited to go when we were packing the car to
go down she said to me
"Mom thanks so much for taking me to New York City I'm so
excited to see the statue of liberty"
then the whole way down probably 50+ times she said to Jace
and I  "I'm so excited to go to the statue of liberty."
So the day after we got there we went.  When G first saw it
she started jumping up and down yelling "it's the statue of liberty."
We waited in the line for about 2 hours in the blistering
heat and humidity.  We also had to listen to Millie cry for the last
hour of the line because she was so hot and miserable. But once we
got on the ferry it cooled down with the wind and Millie finally fell
asleep.   We got to the statue and walked around and took pictures.
I told J.C. every time I there I get teary because I think about what
that statue means to our country and it makes my heart happy.
Also I think about all the men and woman fighting for our
freedom and I am always so grateful that we live in the USA.
On the ferry ride out Georgia couldn't keep her
eyes off the statue she was so excited to finally be getting there

1st timers... Jace & Georgia had never been there so
both were excited to see her up close.

Going to the statue was a dream come true for Georgia
she still hasn't stopped talking about it.  And she keeps saying to us
" I have an idea next time we go to New York City
we can go to the statue of liberty again, that would soooo be fun"
I love that my little girl loves the statue and can't wait for
her to really understand how much that means to our country.

Georgia is getting too old Tiana. Seriously, I don't think I like how old your kids are getting and I'm not there for it! I'm pretty bummed about this!
